Here comes the snow to the Swiss Alps

Much-needed snow has finally arrived on the Swiss Alps coating ski slopes with up to half a metre of the white stuff after warmer temperatures left the famous resort green and bare for much of winter.
Holidaymakers who had planned a snowy Christmas getaway to the Alps had been left disappointed after low-altitude ski resorts were caught in one of the warmest Decembers on record.
However, colder weather across Switzerland has finally brought snowfall today with up to 30cm alone falling in the resort of Verbier.
A further 25cm is expected tonight while up to 50cm is set to fall in the French resort of Meribel and 20cm could sweep in across St Anton, Austria.
