Britain is facing yet more flooding over the next few days as saturated parts of the country are hit by at least seven inches of rain before the weekend.
Householders still reeling from last month’s floods are bracing themselves for more misery today after Storm Jonas swept in from the US.
Yesterday, 30ft waves crashed over Blackpool promenade and planes lurched across the runway as they landed at Manchester Airport.
Elsewhere schools in Cumbria were closed, and three lorries were blown over in a 400-yard stretch of road in South Yorkshire.
And the River Ulls Water threatened Glenridding again - just a month after the Lakeland village was flooded three times.
